Spring has Sprung and Summer is Now Here

Hey guys, sorry it’s taken me so long to update this! The boys will be going back for their Summer term (their third term) in the next couple weeks and I wanted to give you an update from the boys’ last term…

The boys are doing well…Sam finished his final term and graduated from the school of hospitality and hotel management! Once he gets his certificate he will be able to start looking for a job! Yay for Sam!! Lamek is almost done with his primary education, and still planning on switching into a trade school next year. Geoffrey and Leo finished their first term of “A” level, however, Leo suffered from recurring bouts of malaria and other illnesses, and was not able to complete his coursework. He will be retaking the coursework he missed this upcoming term, but pray that he will stay healthy.

Here are the breakdown of expenses from the past term (click on the images to see the boy’s budgets)…The amounts are in Ugandan shillings ($1 = 2,370 UGX).

Boys’ Fall 2010 Support Raised and Sent!

The boys have gone back to school for the fall term! Almost all of the money has been gathered, and all the funds were sent over for the boys’ school, supplies, clothes, food, housing, etc. So thank you all for your help!!

The boys are doing well! Geoffrey & Leo are finishing up their last year of ‘O’ level, with only 2 more years of ‘A’ level to go to finish their secondary schooling. They are extremely dedicated to their studies, and are hoping to go on to become a teacher (Geoffrey) and maybe a doctor (Leo). Sam has gone back for his 2nd term at the school of hospitality and hotel management. After struggling for the last few years at a comprehensive school, he has finally taken to school in finding his niche in a trade he is really excited about! Lamek is finishing up his primary education, and thinking about switching into a trade school next year as well.

I have included the breakdown of expenses in case any of you are interested in what the money has specifically gone for. The first column is Geoffrey, the second Leo, the third, Sam, and the fourth, Lamek. The amounts are in Ugandan shillings ($1 = 2,212 UGX). Again, thank you all so much for your commitment to helping these boys.
